- President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas, Texas, apparently by Lee Harvey Oswald. (TXF: "Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man") Although details remain sketchy, it is believed that the government may have been involved (TXF: "Unusual Suspects"), or that the rogue agency known as Romeo 61 might have been behind it. - John Fitzgerald Byers is born to Bertram Roosevelt Byers. He is named after the recently deceased President, instead of the family traditional name of "Bertram." (TXF: "Unusual Suspects"; TLG: "Pilot")
- A child named Cecil L'Ively is listed to have died this year in a ritual sacrifice by a satanic cult in Toddingham Woods near Bath, England. (TXF: "Fire")
- During the Cuban Missile Crisis, a fleet of six Soviet minesweepers leave from Russia and set course to Havana, Cuba. All six disappear between along the 65th parallel, between Leeds and Cape Perry. (TXF: "Død Kalm")
