• May 5: Seven planets of our solar system align for the first time in 6,000 years. A number of individuals expect this to cause a massive worldwide flood and/or other unspecified "earth changes". (MM: "Force Majeure")

• December: Several members of the Millennium Group believe that the final battle between good and evil must occur at the turn of the Millennium, or it will never occur. They also believe that they have to take an active hand in triggering these events. Their plans are averted by the efforts of Frank Black and FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder. (TXF: "Millennium")
