Mrs. Allsop, the housekeeper of Anna Haag, was poisoned by a pastry that Frohike was supposed to eat. Her death confirmed that the Lone Gunmen were on the trail of the Poisoner of Alsace except they did not realize the food had been dropped off by a neighbor.
