Elvis Presley promoting Jailhouse Rock

Elvis Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was one of the most important figures in American rock and roll music during the 20th century. Elvis supposedly died in Memphis, Tennessee, but there are those who believe otherwise. Fox Mulder for example, believes that Elvis remains the only man to ever successfully fake his own death.

While investigating the home of the Peacock family, Mulder exclaimed "Oh no!" and showed Scully a newspaper from 1977 announcing Presley's death. (TXF: "Home")

In an effort to expose the truth on potentially the biggest conspiracy of all, The Lone Gunmen track down an Elvis impersonator they believe to be the real man. Despite sharing the same birthplace and birthdate, they are disappointed when it becomes apparent that this man is not who they believe him to be, with Langly stating that he is beginning to believe that Elvis may actually be dead after all. (TLG: "Maximum Byers")
