John Teller (played by Ernie Lively) was a sheriff in Johnston County, Oklahoma. During the investigation of the fifth lightning strike death in his jurisdiction, he met FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. He was immediately hostile toward them and insisted the deaths were simply accidental. He was killed by Darren Oswald. The county coroner ruled his death accidental due to lightning, though no lightning struck him. (TXF: "D.P.O.")
