Xzibit is an actor who portrayed Agent Mosley Drummy in The X-Files.

As Special Agent Drummy[]
Xzibit was originally suggested for the role of Agent Drummy by Fox executives, even though the film's production crew had – up to that point – been auditioning many white males and some comedians. According to Chris Carter, Xzibit came in to read for the role without wearing cornrows in his hair and proceeded to nail the part. When the film's script was delivered to Xzibit, there was a man sitting outside the front of his house and he was given only four hours to read the script, after which time he had to give the script back to the man outside who then had to take it back to the studio. In an interview conducted while the film was in production, Xzibit jokes that he had a gun to his head, when the script was first dropped off to him, and that the production crew were absolutely desperate to have it back. Although Chris Carter was aware that one of the earliest filmed scenes in which Xzibit appeared was weighty with dialogue and was consequently "hard stuff" to perform, Carter believed that Xzibit "nailed it."
Frank Spotnitz found Xzibit to be, like Billy Connolly, "very entertaining."
Chris Carter was impressed by how much natural intensity the rapper had on-screen. Ultimately, Carter believed that Xzibit had embodied his character in the film and that the rapper's appearance in The X-Files movie would "do a lot for his career, show that he's a terrific dramatic actor." Mulder actor David Duchovny was initially unfamiliar with Xzibit and his music but later stated, "He's done a great job. He's got a lot of strength and he's really willing to learn and to work, you know? He's really observant and really... Original Musical Role[]
The closing credits sequence of The X-Files: I Want to Believe was originally accompanied by one of Xzibit's songs, "Dying to Live," but the production crew had to take that particular song out of the film. The song is nevertheless included on the film's soundtrack and as an extra on the movie's DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases. Chris Carter also comments on this change of music in the film's audio commentary.
