I find no reference on the site to the various X-Files novels and comics, although there are pages for two video games. Is this just an incomplete area of the site, or are the Expanded Universe items not considered canon here? The Resourses page makes no note of them one way or another, so I'm very curious. Do you think it would be best to take Memory Alpha's approach and only include information from the live action shows, or Wiki 24's approach and include all spin-off material as canon. Either way, the novels and comics should at least be mentioned on the site somewhere. The closest thing I could find is the young adult episode adaptions, but it's an orphaned page. I think it would be a good idea to create similar pages listing all of the comics and novels, as well as full articles for each individual one, including the various reference books and things. I also think it would be cool to have information from these original Expanded Universe stories incorporated into the main articles, but that would be at the consensus of the community, of course. Either way, it's something that should be discussed. --Proudhug 17:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Personally I think it would be a good idea to include information on the expanded universe, provided there are people out there who not only know enough about the novels etc to provide at least a decent framework for everything to be entered into, but also who would have the time/dedication to produce said framework. I myself have a few books and guides that I wouldnt mind supplying info for, priovided i knew where abouts to put that information.
Another thing that I have noticed is missing from this wiki as opposed to others (Star Trek, Doctor Who etc) is the use of a 'real world' icon for articles about memebers of cast/crew etc. Again, is this intentional, or just something that hasnt been gotten round to yet?

The latter. On the subject of adding info from expanded universe sources, I agree that this is a good idea but I definitely think that the info should be kept separately from info taken from episodes/films and that no pages should be created with just info from the expanded universe - that that info should be kept supplementary. This method of dealing with expanded universe sources is essentially that used by Memory Alpha, where the supplementary info is usually found in a section named "Apocrypha" on each page. --Mulder 14:55, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
