Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me like you're asking for the chronological order of the episodes. "Unusual Suspects" (set in 1989) and "Travelers" (set in 1990 with "storytelling sequences" in 1952) - both episodes of The X-Files' fifth season - are the only episodes that are entirely set prior to The X-Files' "Pilot". The rest of the integrated chronology of the episodes can be found in this site's chronology, starting with 1992 and concluding with the last of The X-Files episodes in 2002 and The X-Files: I Want to Believe in 2008. --Mulder 16:26, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Back ground first. I watched X-Files when it aired for the first time. With the way network television will show random reruns alongside new episodes, I have never really been satisfied with how I perceived the story line. I never had a chance to finish the Millennium series or ever watch the Lone Gunmam spin off. My wife only watched 1 episode of the X-Files and didn't understand it back in the day when it first aired. Fast Forward to the future; I tell her I'm going with my best friend to the theater, since you will not even have a clue of what's going on. So she agrees to let me buy the full box set and we try to watch them all before it is released in the theater. The new movie came and went, but I feel great reliving all the old episodes. She keeps saying how all the new "crime" shows just copy the X-Files formula (i.e. the show Bones). I want to buy the Millennium box set(when it's released) and the Lone Gunman box set. I then want to watch these "spin-offs" at the same time as the X-Files series keeping full continuity. Like someone mentioned the Lone Gunman series occurred during the X-Files 8th season. Is there some episode by episode breakdown of all 3 series by a time line for someone who hasn't ever watched it. By the way thanks for any help. -Abjuration

Watch TFX until season 5, then watch the film Fight the Future. Resume with TXF season 6. Watch Millennium season 1-3. Resume TXF season 7 and 8 - stop season 8 before "This Is Not Happening". Watch The Lone Gunmen, then resume TXF season 8 and 9, finally watch I Want To Believe. Probably not exact chronology but that way avoids too much interruption and spoilering. I'm pretty sure TLG is explicitly set between Mulder's abduction and return, but if it's not, it can be watched before watching season 8 instead of during the middle of it. {{SUBST:User:Sonny Burnett/Sig}} 05:19, January 24, 2011 (UTC)
