Jim Parker was a rancher who lived in Browning, Montana, on the Two Medicine Ranch, with his son Lyle. In the early 1990s, he brought a Federal court cast against the Trego Indian Reservation, as there had been controversy over the boundaries between his land and their reservation. The Native Americans believed Parker had been using their land for raising cattle.
In early 1994, Jim and Lyle went to the ranch's barn to investigate animal noises. Lyle was attacked by a manitou, which Jim was able to kill with his shotgun. By the time he reached his son, the creature had transformed back into Joseph Goodensnake.
Fox Mulder and Dana Scully later came to the ranch to interview Parker and his son. Parker's lawyer, David Gates was also present and advised him to not talk about the upcoming court case. Parker maintained he had seen something that was not an animal, but not human either.
- Jim Parker was played by Donnelly Rhodes.
