The assassination of John F. Kennedy occurred on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald is generally considered to be the lone assassin. (TXF: "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man")

The reaction after the assassination was considered by Fox Mulder to be public outrage, and many people believed a cover-up or conspiracy took place. (TXF: "E.B.E.")

Theories about the AssassinationEdit

In 1989, Suzanne Modeski claimed that secret forces within the Government were responsible for the assassination. X sarcastically claimed it was a "lone gunman." (TXF: "Unusual Suspects")

In 1994, Richard Langly ate breakfast with a man who claimed to have been Kennedy's killer. He claimed to have dressed up as a police officer and shot Kennedy from the grassy knoll. (TXF: "E.B.E.")

In 1996, after studying two stories by Raul Bloodworth, Melvin Frohike came up with his theory on the JFK assassination. He claimed that the act was done by the Cigarette Smoking Man operating out of a sewer outlet. The CSM worked with Oswald and set him up as the patsy. (TXF: "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man")

In 2001, the Lone Gunmen found information linking Romeo 61 to the JFK assassination. However, they were unable to verify it. (TLG: "All About Yves")

Popular Perception of the AssassinationEdit

The Lone Gunmen named themselves and their newsletter, The Lone Gunman, from the government's claim that a lone gunmen killed JFK. (TXF: "Unusual Suspects") One of their principle missions was to fight whoever killed JFK. (TLG: "Bond, Jimmy Bond")

Max Fenig used the Kennedy assassination as a reason to "trust no one." (TXF: "Fallen Angel")

FBI Agent Westin joked that Fox Mulder wanted to meet with him to discuss an alien virus or the Kennedy assassination. (TXF: "Lazarus")

Millennium Group member Peter Watts believed that the Kennedy assassination spawned many paranoid delusions. (MM: "Skull and Bones")
