Lebanon is a country in Asia and a member of the United Nations. Lebanon was the site of a long bloody civil war that started in 1975 and ended in 1990.
John Doggett served in the 24th Marine Amphibious Unit in Lebanon as part of the United Nations Multinational Peacekeeping Force there in 1982 and 1983.
In 1983, a barracks used by American and French troops was bombed. Doggett had a tattoo on his arm drawn soon after, which read "24th M.A.U. We shall not forget". (TXF: "Within", "John Doe")
