The extras were really great, and I re-watched some episodes, not all of them since I hope to one time do a full re-watch of all seasons and movies.
It is nice to have it on Blu-Ray now all the seasons. Although when I bought the original blu ray collection a few years, ago I didn't pay as much since I used some gift cards got given for my birthday and such, and only spent $50 on it.
The 6 episodes was honestly wasted. They knew the potential and momentum of the series is not as strong as it used to be, but it still had some moments left for some good measures.. Fox really screwed it. Plus, with the pending merger with Disney, it might be either neutered or completely shelved, leaving us on a cliff hanger. No "good" ending either.
Exactly. It's upsetting they did this. This cliffhanger is worse than the truth. Actually even where they left Mulder and Scully in the second film was better for a happy ending, not the story, just the characters.
Aww, nice. :) Wondering what the state of the DCEU will be. They have so many in development, and so many ain't doing as well as they want or so these media say. but I ignore the critics, I don't base my opinions on them, I watch and make my own.
I have to admit, they could have done a better job of transitioning between David and Doggett. That was just way too many ambiguity. It was just so sudden or like, "oh Here's this guy who will replace Mulder". weak to be honest.
Yeah that's true, I get how that can be annoying. I guess for me, since I only started watching and becoming a huge fan around the time of the second movie, I binged the show through for 5 months, It didn't bother me as much, unless I'd watched it when it aired, but still it took time to get used to him. But it was pretty sudden and forced, exactly like on Charmed with bringing in Paige after Prue left, it was so forced.
I'd have brought in Doggett in the second episode.
Me too. If they had more time to plan, I'd prefer the opposite season 10 being 10 episodes, and season 11 being 6 episodes to wrap up all the mysteries with 6 myth episodes. I actually really was hoping s10's cliffhanger played out.
I forget Mulder's confrontation with CSM never happened now, all it was was the brief Mulder coming and shooting CSM and that's it.
Plus they can't leave Monica and Skinner's fates like that. If this is the end.
Well, I have my copy of the blu ray now where I am. I haven't had a chance to rewatch episodes. Mine came with a copy of my struggle III script. I've watched the David and Gillian interview, bloopers, the Scully effect and part of the season 11 overview. The commentaries are just on Kitten and My Struggle 4, just with writers and directors. No actors this season.
That ages away. I don't understand why, unless the states are going to have more extras that were not ready in time or something. It's still weird. But again, it should be a worldwide release for everyone.
To be honest, I don't feel like buying DVDs just for a few episodes. tbh. lol. I might watch online... I was disappointed to see the series removed from Netflix. which will never be back. It was by fox and got sold to Disney sooooo it will be on its own streaming service. derp.
Yeah that's the problem with streaming online, they can take them down at any moment for reasons like that or if the rights to the shows expire.
That's the reason I still like buying DVDs and Blu-rays. If it's a show I really really love, I will.
Otherwise, I'll watch online. Again, I have digital copies of some shows too.
But that's just me.
Also, hate the idea of having several different streaming services. DC has one now. It's like seriously expecting us to fork out more money for more services. In 20 years time, I'd expect we'll have at least 10 or more, and I don't want to pay over 100 bucks for them all. That's kinda what annoys me, It was better when it was just Netflix. I only have Netflix, and don't feel like paying for several different services, if that makes sense.
I agree. Down the line. Watch, we'll be around in 20-30 years and each company will have one. DC is coming out with it
and by extension Marvel, Pixar, the Fox-under-Disney
The Fox not sold to Disney (Fox News, spots, Wall street Journal etc)
Warner Media -- Includes Warner Bros (the studio behind Harry Potter) and HBO (game of thrones)
Universal Studios - Jurassic World
Dreamworks - Shrek
Watch. Each will have its own streaming service, and they'll charge a crap ton of money like $10-15 USD.
Netflix is gonna have a heavy set of competition seriously. Like, extreme. It needs to outdo itself 10x over in order to survive. Because when the studios launch, they'll pull every single video. Only then, Netflix will be left with its own original shows and things it has streaming rights, which leads back to the 1st point:original shows. side from the fact that he studios will either 1) refuse to let Netflix air them or 2) charge 100x, an amount Netflix can't buy at all. Sheesh.
This won't be good. Its the reason why people pirate stuff without paying. sigh. All hope for the best.
I hope for the best for Netflix. Honestly. Its by far the best thing. Sometimes, competition is good, but not necessarily good for everyone though. I really hope Netflix remains the king and studios think it would be wise to continue host their content on Netflix, and while host their services streaming on studios as well. It would be a great disservice to completely gut Netflix until its literally its own studio. Take Star Trek for example. Paramount produces the new Star Trek and hosts it on CBS All-access, but it didn't pull the previous stuff like TNG and TOS off of Netflix. The com panies can work something out.
I hope so too. But It isn't looking likely, so much competition that most streaming sites are being done. Sad Netflix will lose the rights to so much content.
I agree I hope the companies can work together more. But sadly it's all about money, so don't be surprised in 20 years, we have at least 10 different streaming sites all under different companies.
I pray Netflix doesn't end up being just the Netflix original shows and movies. If that were to happen, I'd cut my Netflix and pirate everything.
Let's just hope for the best. I'll be not getting the DC Universe streaming. I don't want to have more than one service. I'm sure others will be the same, not worth it. There's only so many people can fork out. Netflix is enough.
I imagine they might go the way of Vevo. Basically, Vevo is a creation by the three major music studios on youtube. It worked out well, as it allows youtube to host content. I 'd image They might do the same.
Netflix is enough. I like Netflix and its interface is decent, although could smooth it out a little. Greed is the reason why piracy is highly rampant.
I don't mind Netflix's interface, it's okay just needs some smoothing out. Not the best but decent, and nothing Netflix can do with losing music rights to many shows being replaced. But it isn't an issue for me since most of those shows I have the DVDs. I just feel bad that those who haven't seen the originals and rely on Netflix don't get the same experience.
Speaking of rewatched a few S1 episodes of X-Files the two tooms episodes. Some of my favorites. It's too bad, I wouldn't have minded a follow-up monster of the week in s10 or 11, but I can see why they didn't do it.
makes me wonder if the market DVD will "die out". peple are going heavy for streaming.
This is a random thought but I won't be surprised if in the future, the studios band together and buy Netflix. like, complete ownership.
As for Disney, I stopped watching disney stuff a while ago. They make the same cookie cutter stuff. Same with Pixar. Copy paste, use different ingredients. to an extend, Marvel as well, and Star Wars. At least other studios aren't afraid to experiment with strange stuff.
Maybe, that might happen in a few decades or less when the older generation is gone. Just be cool if all the content DVDs put out and extras etc. can find its way on streaming too than just giving the episodes or movies. I have to admit, that's one of the things I love most about DVDs too.
That honestly wouldn't surprise me, if they did band together and buy Netflix.
Yeah, that's true, other's ain't afraid to do strange stuff and things out there.
I had an idea for X-files. They could have made a cross other with other tv shows. Some of the other crime fighhting ones. The big one I was thinking of was Criminal Minds, which is another FBI one. yeah bit troll-ish but still.
I had lots of fun. It's funny after a while, I got so used to it, It reminded me of Melbourne, okay not really but just how I settled and got used to city life again.
Orlando was fun with the theme parks, but very hot. I think I enjoyed New York more than LA when I visited. Because it was easier to get around and find places to eat. In LA, It was more trying to get around. New York felt easier. If that makes sense.
Yeah that's true about the cops crossover. I actually love that episode. I see the blu ray/dvd is coming out in July. I can't wait to add it to my collection. Sucks, it won't fit in the boxset I bought on blu-ray, so I might have to take out the movies to make it fit.
I might re-watch the series again, but not so soon. Might just watch S11 or the extras first. I want a bit of distance before another re-watch again.
The one about terrorism: Babylon. I was just thinking..... How are they gonna connect that? Turns out, Mulder used some hack to enter the almost-dead guy's mind to get the answer. That move with the tech felt more like something of the future medical advances and sci-fi rather than paranormal mystery. Like what?
On the other hand, Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster is a monster of the week monster I truly liked. Mystery and a monster truly validated, if ever so slightly, Mulder's belief in the truth out there.
My question would be why the in the hangar seen UFO/ARV ("My Struggle") is novelty compared to the previous one. We know in the first season that the government/military uses alien technology since 1947. (see: ARV in 1x01: "Deep Throat", "Tempus Fugit"/"Max", Area 51 in "Dreamland" I-II.)
Im thinking of adopting this wiki as bureaucrat. I would love to do so, and would require your support. I have to wait until may 24th because the bureaucrat Princess Diva last edited March 24, so I have to wait 2 months.
