Scott Ostlehoff

Scott Ostlehoff (played by Steve Makaj) was a Syndicate operative and an employee at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency who had been ordered to spy on Fox Mulder. Mulder learned of Ostlehoff's spying after a tip from Michael Kritschgau, who also worked at DARPA. Mulder confronted Ostlehoff and shot him in the face. Realizing he had an opportunity to possibly obtain a cure for Scully's cancer, Mulder shot Ostlefhoff in the face with his own shotgun, erasing his identity, which allowed Mulder to fake his own death. Mulder used Ostlehoff's level-4 security clearance to gain entrance to the DARPA facility and ultimately a secret storage facility beneath the Pentagon.
