The bounty hunters and rebels apear to be part of the same alien race they can shape shift into anyone. they may have been a race of bounty hunters working for other races as the bounty hunters carry a alien like stilleto that can kill aliens by stabbing them in the back of the neck. the bounty hunters and rebels lived together as a peaceful race. unto the grey alien colonists began colonizing other races the colonists may have saw the bounty hunters as a weapon. so the colonists employed the bounty hunters to police the colonizing operation. but not all of the bounty hunters race joined the colonists the other members of the race didn't agree with the colonists plan to take over every planet they then became rebels.
