Talk:Marita Covarrubias
From X-Files Wiki
[edit] Edits and Commentary
“...was a Special Representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations.” Marita introduced herself as an “Assistant to the Special Representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations”, I believe.
“Although he had some suspicions, Mulder was unaware that a secretive group who called themselves the Syndicate were paying Marita for the use of her diplomatic power in furthering their goal to develop and alien vaccine before the Russians could.”
We don’t know that the Syndicate was paying Marita. She may have been blackmailed by them and not getting any payment at all. --Sylvia de marc 00:54, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
- In "The Truth", the series finale of The X-Files, Marita Covarrubias is questioned by Walter Skinner, during the trial of Fox Mulder. Marita introduces herself by stating that her former government title is, "Special Representative to the Secretary General of the U.N." One of the numerous questions Skinner subsequently asks her is, "Did you believe in the Syndicate, in their international conspiracy?" and she replies, "No. I was paid for my access." --Sir Gumboots 18:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- I forgot to mention that Marita earlier tells Krycek (in the Season 5 episode "Patient X") that she is "a Special Representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations" and that the original initiator of this thread was correct in essentially stating that, upon first meeting Mulder (in the first episode of Season 4, "Herrenvolk"), Marita introduces herself as "the Assistant to the Special Representative". This information can be found on the page about the title of Special Representative to the Secretary General. --Sir Gumboots 19:00, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
