Wayne Federman

Wayne Federman (played by himself) was a college buddy of Walter Skinner who approached "Skin-Man" to direct a movie based on an X-File. Skinner obliged and permitted Federman to tag along with Mulder as he investigated a church bombing. The bombing led to an investigation of Micah Hoffman, who apparently created forged religious documents that he sold to Cardinal Augustine O'Fallon. Eventually Federman returned to Los Angeles to make his movie, entitled The Lazarus Bowl, starring Garry Shandling as Mulder, Téa Leoni as Scully, and supposedly Richard Gere as Skinner. The agents attended the premiere of the movie, but were thoroughly disappointed with its comical depiction of events. (TXF: "Hollywood A.D.")
