X-Files Confidential (also known with the subheading "The Unauthorized X-Philes Compendium") is an unofficial reference book published by Little, Brown and Company that provides an extensive episode guide to the early seasons of The X-Files. Written by Ted Edwards, the book was first published in October 1996, providing episode summaries and production information from The X-Files' pilot through "Talitha Cumi" at the conclusion of the third season. A later, expanded edition was published in October 1997, incorporating information through the fourth season.

As well as episode information, the book includes a foreword by Jeff Rice, creator of Kolchak: The Night Stalker – which served as an influence on The X-Files – and several articles by Ted Edwards, as well as an in-universe encyclopedia and an appendix of each episode's original transmission dates. The book also features multiple photographs and illustrations.
